On behalf of the Milledgeville-Baldwin County Development Authority, Ocmulgee Inc. engineers Chad Bryant (left) and Wesley Woods (right) review construction bids for grading work at the 44-acre industrial park site. Around 15 bids were received at the 10 a.m. Thursday opening. Baldwin County and City of Milledgeville staffs have been busy clearing trees on the tract visible from Highway 22. The more work they get done lowers the grading project cost. A portion of $2.5 million County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax funds will cover the upcoming work. Firms from all over the state and South Carolina made the Milledgeville trip hoping to win the park project. The development authority board has to approve the low bid, which could happen next week. Once green lighted, the construction window lasts 120 days.
